What are the differences between Studio and Studio Plus licenses?

Our Studio level licenses take each shot/video as individual projects/jobs.

Our “Studio Plus” versions for Analyzer and Retargeter allow some higher efficiency use of our software. With Analyzer Studio Plus, your artists can build and export “Global Tracking Models” specific to an actor's face, which allow each subsequent shot to track quicker since it pulls from this custom database specific to your actor’s face.

You can also create and share “Pose Libraries“ in Retargeter Studio Plus between your animation team, effectively allowing your animation team to set up one library for an entire production, rather than recreating it each shot.

In addition, Studio Plus versions allow for batch/API processing capabilities that provide an infrastructure to quickly process hundreds (even thousands) of lines of dialogue for larger projects. With this, you can set up a semi-automated pipeline to quickly track large collections of data, and get each shot to the 'polish' phase in 70% of the time.

What are your paths for upgrades?

For our hardware systems, it is possible to turn-in your Mark III System for a discount towards a new Mark IV system. Your Mark III System would be sent in to Faceware for a thorough analysis.

For our software licenses, it depends on the type of license you own. If you purchase Perpetual Licenses of our software, you may upgrade from Studio to Studio Plus at a later date as long as your support is active. Should you upgrade to a higher-priced version we will credit revenues you have paid towards the cost of upgrade.

We do not allow software upgrades of our new Annual or Academic Licenses. For example, you would need to purchase a new Studio Plus Annual License if you wished to upgrade from a Studio Annual License.

Can I buy annual licenses for multiple years?

Yes, you can purchase multiple years of Annual Licenses at one time. Since our Annual License rates potentially change from year-to-year, purchasing multi-year licenses now will ensure you have a license for multiple years at a reduced rate.

You can also purchase multiple years of Support for your Perpetual Licenses, ensuring you have all the benefits of a support subscription for longer than 12-months.

What types of payment do you accept, and when do I make my payment?

We accept a variety of payment options, including: ACH Transfer, US Dollar checks, wire transfer, Paypal, and credit card via Stripe.

When ordering directly online, you can make your payment immediately through Stripe and receive your software licenses right away.

If you are in need of hardware or a larger bulk purchase that would require a quote, you can make your payment after the quotation has been confirmed in our system and an invoice has been issued to your email address. From there, you can pay via any of the options listed above.

Please note, however, that credit card payments will receive a 4.5% processing fee. Once receipt of your full invoice payment has been confirmed, we will begin the process of issuing your software licenses and/or preparing to ship your hardware.

What is covered under your Faceware camera warranty?

A Faceware camera warranty gets you a full year of no-cost repair and replacement items whenever your hardware needs maintenance. This covers the entire system end-to-end.

Additionally, when you renew your camera warranty, you’ll receive a free care package full of common wear-and-tear maintenance items and Faceware swag!

Faceware care packages include:

  • 1x Spare Battery
  • 1x New Set of Lenses
  • 1x Full Screw and Nut Set
  • 1x Make Up Pen
  • 1x Face Wipes
  • 1x Complete Tool set
  • 1x Chin strap
  • 1x Velcro strips

And last but certainly not least, your warranty gets you discounts on incremental hardware upgrades and improvements, such as depth camera, additional helmets, and more.

Can I buy just the Mark IV camera instead of the whole headcam system?

No, we do not currently offer the Mark IV camera as a separate product from the full Mark IV Headcam System.

When will my order ship?

Our systems are largely customized and can vary depending on vendor and availability. We work to make sure we have all components available at the time an order has been placed. Once payment or terms have been received, we will work to ship out your system within 3-10 business days, based on our current order queue.

Should you need your system sooner, please be sure to inform your Faceware representative.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship Worldwide. For international resellers, check out our partner page.

It is important to note, however, that the person or company receiving the shipment is legally obliged to pay customs duties. Customs duties and taxes are only set when your shipment is imported into the country. Delivery fees from your sales invoice are ONLY for the cost of shipping the freight.

Can you only use Faceware hardware with Faceware software?

No, Faceware products are entirely agnostic and can be paired with any other hardware or software products in the market.

Can I remove software licenses from the Mark IV system bundle and reduce the cost?

No, the Annual Licenses are provided as courtesy with the purchase of the Mark IV System. However, the Annual Licenses can instead be upgraded to Perpetual License equivalents if desired.

Contact your Faceware rep for a quote to upgrade to Perpetual licenses.

How many licenses of your realtime software do I need to record multiple actors?

You will need one license of either our Live 2.5 or Faceware Studio software per actor/performer you wish to record/ stream concurrently.

What should I do if I experience issues with my hardware after I receive it?

Please contact support@facewaretech.com to coordinate the return of your hardware products in need of repair or replacement. Once proper maintenance on your hardware has been conducted, we will send your system back to you within two to ten business days depending on if components needed are Faceware manufactured or third-party.

Its worth noting, our systems have averaged less than 1% failure rate since 2012.

Can I transfer my licenses from one computer to another?

Yes, if you have active support, you can have your software licenses transferred to a new PC. For more information on how to proceed with your license transfer, please visit http://support.facewaretech.com/transferring-a-license.

Once support@facewaretech.com receives the correct files from the above article, they will be able to facilitate a license transfer for you.

Our goal is to soon provide users with the means to transfer their licenses between machines themselves when we update to our new cloud-based licensing system with Faceware Studio.

Are your software licenses local or server-based?

Our licenses can be either local or server-based, which is determined by the user at the time of license activation.

Do you charge for an actor profile?

Our software does not need a profile to be created as a service in order to function, all processing occurs locally on the user workstation.

Do I need to be connected to the Internet to use Faceware software?

For the Studio Plus versions of our software, no internet connection is required. For Studio, and Trial versions, an active internet connection is only required during the initial credential check whenever the software is launched. During the actual workflow process, no internet connection is required.
